5 One Piece Devil Fruit and the WWE Superstars That Should Use Them

The wrestlers of WWE may be self-professed superstars, but even the best of athletes have an Achilles’ heel. Therefore, certain wrestlers could benefit from the help of One Piece’s Devil Fruit, mystical fruits which grant the eater strange powers. I’ve compiled a list of superstars and the devil fruit they could eat to boost their brute strength.

1. Suke Suke no Mi (Invisibility)/John Cena

John Cena has long been famed for his catchphrase “You can’t see me”, used to imply his superiority over other wrestlers, as well as in reference to his finishing move and rap album (yes, really) of the same name. Ironically, by flapping his giant hands around his face and wearing candy-coloured outfits that make him look like “a bowl of Fruity Pebbles” (The Rock, 2012), Cena is actually quite conspicuous. As such, Cena could use the Suke Suke no Mi fruit, which renders the user invisible, currently used in One Piece by the leader of Thriller Bark, Absalom. Cena’s catchphrase would literally be satisfied and he could appease the many wrestling fans who, after a 13 year run of success, are sick of seeing John Cena. If only John Cena could make his short lived rap career disappear from history.

2. Yami Yami no Mi (Darkness) / The Undertaker

The Undertaker arguably has one of the most iconic entrances in the history of the WWE, with the formula remaining largely unchanged. A funeral bell tolls in the pitch black arena, followed by a procession of flaming torches, with The Undertaker finally emerging from amidst plumes of smoke. But after all these years, creating this shadowy sequence must be quite an undertaking (I’m so sorry) for the ageing superstar. The Yami Yami no Mi fruit, favoured by One Piece antagonist Blackbeard, which allows for the creation and manipulation of darkness, would solve this problem. The Undertaker could make suitably spooky entrances, and well as recreating the suspenseful atmosphere of his heyday.

3. Mera Mera no Mi (Fire) / Kane

During the Attitude era of WWE (then WWF), Kane was one of the most formidable and terrifying wrestlers,  renowned for his enigmatic masked face, unpredictable behaviour, and occasionally kidnapping young women for no reason. Unfortunately, the fire for which Kane was once famed has burnt out. Kane has swapped pyromania for politics, regularly criticizing government policy in his blog. The Mera Mera no Mi fruit inherited by Sabo from Ace in One Piece (similar perhaps to Kane’s fraternal relationship with The Undertaker). The fruit allows for the creation, control, and transformation into fire, would prove invaluable in resurrecting Kane’s career. He would easily regain his intimidating attitude when surrounded by fire, and would successful reignite the flames and the fear for which he is famed.

4. Batto Batto no Mi, Model: Vampire / Viscera

Viscera AKA Nelson Frazier Jr., sadly passed away last year, but nonetheless made a massive impression on the wrestling circuit, as a hulking, white eyed goth. Viscera’s persona was decidedly vampiric, though a little tawdry; think a portly, budget version of Blade wrapped in a bin bag. Viscera could have benefited from the Batto Batto no Mi fruit, a game-exclusive devil fruit (One Piece: Unlimited World Red) which allows the user to transform into a vampire. A more polished look could have transformed Viscera from threadbare to terrifying.

5. Gomu Gomu no Mi (Rubber) / Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
