5pb Games Release New Steins;Gate 0 Trailer & Launch Date UPDATE: English Subs

Given the very successful console release of Steins;Gate in Europe and its subsequent and recent success in North America there’s one thought that gives us more goosebumps than any other — the possibility of Steins;Gate 0 in the west. And hopefully much, much closer to its Japanese release than the first game! Steins;Gate 0 is due out very soon in Japan, and 5pb Games have shown off a new Steins;Gate 0 trailer.

Here’s the English subbed version, courtesy of Reading Steiner (from the comments), who worked on the translation of the first game!

And the original:

The trailer is a lot more head-bopping than the first reveal trailer. It looks like the animation for the opening is done by White Fox, the animation studio who made the very good anime adaptation of Steins;Gate, and who will be working on the already greenlit anime version of Steins;Gate 0.

Steins;Gate 0 is the first “legitimate sequel” (a very rough translation) of the critically acclaimed original. Though in some senses it’s not a true sequel at all, being set in another timeline where bad things happened. It loosely draws from some of the Steins;Gate spin-off media such as the light novel series, but it is an entirely new scenario unique to the game, and looks like it will be a stunning follow-up to an already pretty stunning first game.

Steins;Gate 0 is releasing 19th November in Japan for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 3. It’s also worth noting that some copies of the game will come with a remastered version of the first game for PlayStation 4, Steins;Gate HD.
