Arc System Works Acquire Jake Hunter and More
A recent announcement saw Arc System Works acquire Jake Hunter, Theresia, Nazo no Jikenbo, and Koneko no Ie from WorkJam. There were also two further announcements regarding upcoming releases of the Jake Hunter detective adventure games.
It’s been five years since the last Jake Hunter title, Rondo of Revenge, on the 3DS, and now a new title called Jake Hunter: Ghost of the Dusk is currently in development to celebrate the series’ 30th anniversary. Ghost of the Dusk will also be for 3Ds, but there’s no further information at this point.
Past Jake Hunter games will also be seeing a release in summer 2017 in Japan on mobile devices in the form of Jake Hunter: App Series. There isn’t a list of which specific titles will be included, but titles such as Portrait of a Dead Child (Naki ko no Shouzou), The Endless Night (Akenai Yoru ni), and Kito’s Night (Kito no Yoru) can be seen on the promotional image.
It’s always nice to see an older series getting some attention. Hopefully, this could provide an opportunity for some more of these games to come west too!
Further information can be found on the Jake Hunter portal site.
