Caligula’s New Trailer Showcases Combat

Caligula, Aquaria’s latest game set to release in Japan on Juna 23th, received another trailer. This time the focus is on showing off the combat.

In this 3-minute trailer the protagonist is seen battling dangerous students at the school. If you break their line of sight battle ensues, meaning you will have to be on your toes at all times. Not only that, but you will be able to preview your moves before executing them, allowing you to play strategically against aggressive enemies.

Those numbers around student’s heads are known as the erosion rate and serve to see how corrupted that student has become by listening to μ’s music. μ is Mobius’s creator and ruler. Like we written previously, Mobius is a virtual reality world where different people in the world are put into a high school reliving their lives as students. If the erosion level becomes high enough, the students become deadly enemies.

Like in Persona, the battles are accompanied by an intense soundtrack with female vocals. The visual effects look really cool especially on the Vita, but there is some concern over the graphics performance as at certain points the game seems to stutter a whole lot.
