Corpse Party: Blood Drive Release Trailer Looks Unnerving

Corpse Party was originally a doujin title released on the NEC PC-9801 and has come a long way since then. In the west it gained somewhat of a cult following with its two terrifying PSP titles. Corpse Party: Blood Drive for the PlayStation Vita is finally nearing its release date and will serve as a conclusion to the series.

Corpse Party: Blood Drive is a direct sequel to Corpse Party: Book of Shadows and starts two months after the previous game. The story will follow the characters from the previous titles, well at least the ones that survived that is.

This is the first game in the series to feature fully 3D environments and character models. The Heavenly Host Elementary school was remade from the ground up for this new engine, so you will be able revisit  locations from the previous games. The 3D also helps intensify the atmosphere of the game, as it will now have a dynamic lighting system. Other new additions include sprinting for short bursts, disarming traps and hiding in order to lose your pursuers. The excellent 3D binaural audio will be making a return, giving the title even creepier atmosphere with its surround sound.

XSEED Games will release the North American version of the game on the 13th of October, which unfortunately falls on a Tuesday.

Europe still hasn’t got a specific release date, but from what we know it should be out sometime this month thanks to Marvelous Europe.
