Dynasty Warriors 9 Announced – An Open World Rebirth
Koei Tecmo announced at Jump Festa 2017 that Dynasty Warriors 9 will be an open-world title and will feature dramatic gameplay changes, but nothing has been specified just yet. This sounds like a drastic change for such an iconic Koei Tecmo’s series.
Not much is known about the game, apart from some vague info released by the developers and the the producer Akihiro Suzuki. We know that Zhou Cang will be featured as a new playable character. What we got is a brief trailer which you can take a look at below. There is no word of the platform yet, but what is widely speculated is that the game is in development on the PlayStation 4 and the rest is uncertain.
If you are confused about the naming, Dynasty Warriors 9 is indeed Dynasty Warriors 8 in Japan because the west got the first title which was a fighting game as the first Dynasty Warriors. That is why all English titles are a number ahead of the original Japanese titles.
