E3 2015: Sony Press Conference

There were some absurd expectations from Sony this year, with rumors about the big trinity of games making it to their system: Shenmue 3, Final Fantasy VII Remake and The Last Guardian. Did they deliver? Scroll down to find out.


The Last Guardian

Directerd Fumito Ueda, The Last Guardian is a game brought to us by the team behind ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. It is a story about the friendship between a boy and a beast. The gameplay trailer is extremely atmospheric. The game is said to be out next year.

 

 

Horizon Zero Dawn

From Guerilla Games, the developers of the iconic Killzone franchise, comes a totally new IP. After the apocalypse all that remains are tribes who are constantly on the hunt for machines that roam these lush lands.

 

 

Hitman

Agent 47 is back in the most ambitious Hitman ever created. The game will be out on PC and consoles.

 

 

Street Fighter V

Both Birdie and Cammy will be returning to the franchise in this newest installment of the Street Fighter franchise. Street Fighter V will be available on both PC and PlayStation 4 next year.

 

 

No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky features the first universe sized sandbox. There are thousands of available solar systems each with their own planets and ecology, and each full destructible. The developer jumped to a undiscovered solar system showing off the unprecedented scale of the game. The release date for No Man’s Sky will be announced soon.

 

 

Dreams

Media Molecule unveiled a stunning 3D sculpting program, where anyone can make anything they dreamed off with minimal effort. More information will be out during Paris Games week in October.

 

 

Firewatch

This interactive adventure will be making its console debut on PlayStation 4. Firewatch will be out this year.

 

 

Destiny The Taken King

Destiny The Taken King is the next installment of Destiny’s newest expansion.

 

 

Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate

Whereas the Ubisoft press conference has shown us one of one of the two playable protagonists of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, the Sony press conference had Evie, his twin sister, demonstrate her killing skills.

 

 

World of Final Fantasy

And now for the Final Fantasy game you have all been waiting for, World of Final Fantasy! No? Well still, this is a delightful new Final Fantasy title featuring some of the most adorable chibi characters I have ever seen. World of Final Fantasy will be out next year for both the PS4 and Vita.

 

 

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Sqaure Enix redeemed themselves!

 

 

Shenmue III

And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better!

 

It’s on Kickstarter now. Fund it, or else!

 

 

Batman: Arkham Knight

Sony also revealed a new trailer of Batman: Arkham Knight Scarecrow DLC.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III

With the Call of Duty exclusivity deal with Microsoft over it was to expected for a gameplay trailer to show up during Sony’s conference. Call of Duty: Black Ops III will be out for everything… except the Wii U.

 

 

Devolver Digital

Fans of indie games will be delighted to know that Devolver Digital will be bringing out a bunch of new games for the PlayStation 4.

 

 

Project Morpheus

Not much was said about Morpheus other than that it will support VR co-op on the same couch.

 

 

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

The show closed with the stunning Uncharted 4, featuring gun play and a car chase.

 

 


This is usually where I talk about how the press conference was overall but after these announcements there is literally nothing left to say. Sony just unveiled some of the most requested games ever.
