E3 2016: Sony Press Conference

We couldn’t believe it, but Sony somehow managed to make their E3 2016 press conference as good as last year’s if not even better. Despite the show being a bit shorter than in the previous years, there wasn’t a single moment where they faltered. They managed to show title after title, while keeping their VR segment to a minimum.

God of War

Sony started their press conference strong with the next God of War title. The game seems to have taken queues from Naughty Dog’s titles, as the character interaction is a lot more down to earth and more believable than ever. The game looks to make full use of the PlayStation 4 hardware.

Days Gone

This new title is brought to us by the developers at Bend Studio’s the team behind Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the PlayStation Vita. Days Gone is an open-world zombie survival game. You will be flooded by hordes of zombies, literally like the scenes form the World War Z movie, as you fight for survival.

The Last Guardian

After countless years of waiting, we cannot believe it, but now The Last Guardian has finally got a released date, the October 25th this year.

Horizon Zero

Despite its delay, the game still is as impressive as it was last year. Our red-head heroine goes out to hunt oversized mechanized animals with bows and arrows, in this open-world adventure.

Detroit Become Human

David Cage’s games usually divide audiences; Some enjoy the storytelling while others, dis them for the lack of gameplay and abundance of plot holes. Detroit Become Human seems to follow the interactive film nature of his games, but this time it takes place in the near future where the emphasis is on the interaction of society and androids.

Resident Evil 7

When we first heard that Resident Evil 7 will be returning to its roots with a new survival horror title we were expecting something more on the level of the original games or maybe even the partially action infused Resident Evil 4. We were quite surprised to see that the game will be a first person horror game, more in the vein of Silent Hills. While we are still unsure of what to think, the fact that the game will be fully playable with the PlayStation VR when it ultimately comes out grantees that the game is bound to bring some big frights when we get our hands on it.

PlayStation Plus subscribers can download the demo right now, with the full game out on January 24th next year. An in-game Easter egg also points to the possibility of the game coming with a demo for the long-awaited remake of Resident Evil 2.

Spider-Man

While the spider-man games usually end up being mediocre, with Insomniac games at the helm, the game will surely get that extra coat of polish the series deserves.

Crash Bandicoot

Crash Bandicoot is back. The Crash trilogy is being remastered by the devs at Vicarious Visions. While we still haven’t got a glimpse of the game, Crash will also be a new addition to the world of Skylanders Imaginators this October.

PlayStation VR

Farpoint

After encountering an anomaly near Jupiter the player is transported to a distant alien world. Farpoint will allow players to fully immerse themselves in this first person sci-fi shooter.

Here They Lie

Resident Evil 7 isn’t the only first person horror game this year that supports PlayStation VR. This new title will take you to a terrifying nightmarish world from which you try to escape. Expect Here They Lie this fall.

Batman: Arkham VR

Warner Brothers Games teased us with Batman: Arkham VR. While we didn’t get to see much, just the voice of Joker alone gets us all giddy with excitement. We can’t wait to be tormented by the crazy clown this October.

Final Fantasy XV

VR isn’t only reserved for first person horror games, since Final Fantasy XV seems to be hopping on the bandwagon. Take control of Prompto via the PlayStation VR and fire away with his guns, and don’t forget to sneak a peek at the busty Cid while you are at it.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The LEGO games bring some of the best co-op experiences on the market as well as good dose of humor for fans of the series. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be rolling out to the PlayStation 4 on June 28th this year.
