Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds Announced for Spring 2017
Idea Factory have announced that Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds will be getting a western release in Spring 2017! Take a look at the characters in the official announcement trailer below:
It sort of feels like there’s no end to the Hakuoki games, but it’s definitely good to see more otome games being localised! Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds may look like a remake of Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, but it promises a lot of extras!
There will be new story chapters and character routes, including new romanceable options! The trailer suggests these will be a mixture of new characters and those from the first game. In particular, it’s really exciting that Sanan, Nagakura, and Yamazaki might get character routes. I never really understood why they didn’t to start with, so that’s a definite bonus!
Given that Kyoto Winds is an upgraded version of the first game, it’s also really accessible for new players. If you missed Hakuoki when it came out on the PSP, I highly recommend you take a look at Kyoto Winds!
Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds will be released in North America and Europe in Spring 2017 for the PS Vita.
