Halloween Month: The Letter Preview
The Letter is an upcoming horror visual novel inspired by famous Japanese films such as Ju-On: The Grudge and The Ring. The project is currently on Kickstarter with a playable demo available for download.
The Letter is in production by a small, independent company of 10 people – Yangyang Mobile. This will be their first big PC project and they need help with the funding. Of the $30000 pledged over $4600 has already been backed with 23 days to go.
What sets The Letter apart from similar games is the addition of quick time events. This will help make this visual novel more immersive and to keep the tension high.
You will play as Isabella Santos, a real estate agent, who unknowingly stumbles into a haunted house. After checking out the house’s attic she finds a letter with only “Help me” written all over it and a warning to send this letter out to 5 people.
The game is planned to have 6 chapters in total with 12 short-endings and 5 long-term ending. The long-term endings are unlocked based on the remaining survivors left.
The Letter promises to have an intriguing story with a colorful cast of characters with twists and turns along the way.
