Idol Death Game TV Gets Its First Screenshots

We can’t get enough death games. Be it solving a murder mystery in Danganronpa, hunting traitors from within your party in Lost Dimension, or fighting for supremacy in Fate/Extra, there is a reason why this genre is so popular.

Idol Death Game TV is the newest title from D3 Publisher and is one that promises to kill off cute idols in a variety of gruesome ways.

In a mansion deep in the mountains the top leading idol groups go up against one another to prove which is the best. Their various talents are judged, such as dancing and performance. The ones that fail to get enough of a reaction from the judges are mercilessly killed of for the sake of the viewers of the death game TV show. The host of the game is Doripaku, a somewhat cute and deranged mascot which serves as this game’s Monokuma.

Each new chapter of the game opens up with a new challenge. You are free to explore the mansion at your leisure, searching for items that may help you in your inevitable confrontation. Depending on who lives and who dies the game’s plot will change, so don’t expect this to be your typical linear adventure.

Idol Death Game TV will be making its way to Japan in October this year, exclusively for the PlayStation Vita. No news on a western release yet.
