It’s Over 40,000 — Dragon Ball FighterZ Destroys the Steam Fighter Competition With Concurrent Users

We all knew Dragon Ball FighterZ was going to be a big one. We even gave it a stellar review just the other day. With such an awesome anime license for a fighting game, and the steady hands of fighting game veterans Arc System Works, it was bound to be a hit.

But who thought it’d take off so well on Steam, blowing the competition out of the water with its peak concurrent users?

As of just now, Dragon Ball FighterZ passed 44,000 concurrent players on Steam. That’s playing at the same time. That’s a huge number, and a massive accomplishment. The players really have lent FighterZ their energy.

To put it in perspective, here are the peak concurrent users for some other fighting games according to Steam Charts.

Tekken 718,766

Street Fighter V13,807

– Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja STORM 4: 5,931

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite: 3,592

Injustice 21,851

That means that Dragon Ball FighterZ‘ success is absolutely phenomenal on Steam so far! It seems to be doing pretty well on other formats too (it’s just not as easy to track).

The mix between a competitive fighting game and a mainstream, recognisable anime really seems to be the right one.
