Live Action Neko Atsume Teaser Trailers Play with Genre
One of the more unexpected adaptations in the works is a live action Neko Atsume film! The film now has two new teaser trailers that play with genre – one in the style of a horror movie and the other a blockbuster! It’s a fun stunt for what looks like a sweet and laid-back movie! Based on the popular smartphone game where you collect cats, the live action Neko Atsume follows a writer who moves to a new home in a tranquil area to try and overcome writer’s block. After a cat shows up at his house, he starts to leave food in his garden hoping it will return. Inevitably, there will be lots of cats, so what’s not to love? This has the potential to be really feel-good, not to mention extremely cute – I’m all for it!
The live action Neko Atsume film releases in Japan on 8th April.
