Mystic Messenger: Introducing Ryu Hyun
Earlier this month, Cheritz introduced the first bachelor in their upcoming otome game, Mystic Messenger. The South Korean developer has now excited fans a second time with the announcement of ‘Zen’, the next bachelor in this mobile game romance!
‘Zen’ is not this character’s real name, but actually some sort of nickname. As this game is all about a mysterious app the heroine downloads, my guess is that ‘Zen’ is a username the character uses when chatting online through the app. His real name is Ryu Hyun, a 23 year old who has a height of 182cm and a weight of 75kg. He likes exercise, playing the piano and smoking… Exercise and smoking, eh? This character seems to have some conflicting priorities! He is a narcissist, has a weakness for women and romance, and prefers loyalty over riches. Despite his problems, Ryu Hyun sounds like a good man deep down.
Hyun is a musical actor and a workaholic. A musical actor certainly sounds a bit more unique (not to mention specialised). Perhaps Hyun only takes parts in musicals, or films that only involve his beloved piano playing? I can’t imagine such parts are rich for the picking however… His appearance has him seem smart and charming. The large embroidered ‘Z’ on his white jacket, presumably referring to his nickname of ‘Zen’, certainly speaks of his narcissistic tendencies. His hairstyle is also very similar to the Wizard, a key character in Cheritz’s previous PC otome games, Dandelion –Wishes Brought to You- and Nameless ~ The One Thing You Must Recall. Could this simply be a coincidence?
