Natural Doctrine Getting a Western Release
Out this month in Japan Natural Doctrine has an interesting take on the classic tactical RPG genre. You are allowed free movement of your characters reminiscent of the excellent Valkyria Chronicles. As the title suggests natural selection is a key element in this game.
Natural Doctrine will be a tough game. If anyone dies it’s game over, forcing you to restart the mission. Missions will have varied victory conditions, as not every one will require defeating all enemies. Since the environments are destructible you will have to use them in order to get an upper hand on the opponents.
You have an overhead view on the battlefield. Like Valkyria Chronicles you can also shift the camera to a third person perspective allowing you see your line of fire.

The character designs are made by the studio Ufotable, famous for their Fate/Zero and Kara no Kyoukai anime.
Natural Doctrine also features both cross play and cross save. This allows you to play the game on your PS3 and transfer the save to your Vita in order to play it on the go. The game also features an online card game mode. So you can make your deck and duel it out with your opponents.
Natural Doctrine is available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. NIS America recently announced that they will be bringing Natural Doctrine to the west this fall.
