New Details Revealed on Action RPG Code Vein

The Director and the Producer of action RPG Code Vein gave an interview in the latest issue of Dengeki, in which we learn new details about the upcoming Namco Bandai title. I’m looking forward to hearing more about the character customization.

The content of the interview has been translated below:

The game will be challenging but not overly difficult.

– The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world, but we don’t know how many years have passed or even what caused the destruction of the world.

– At the beginning of the game, the main character’s goal will be to survive as a vampire (“Revenant”). He will learn the truth about the world as he fights.

– The character on the left in the following screenshot is the player’s character. This character is actually a fully customizable avatar who can be male or female. It will be possible to make cool-looking heroic characters.

There will be a lot of freedom in the character’s progression. The players will be able to develop the character as they sees fit to match their favourite playstyle.

– The game will let you explore the world on foot, there won’t be stages.

– There will be many field variations. For instance, there will be snowfall in snowy mountains that will have an effect on the battles. Each enemy will also have different characteristics.

– It is possible to play the game without bringing any other party members with you.

– Presumably because the characters are Revenants, they can’t die, so they come back to life after some time. There will be checkpoints in the game to express this idea.

There were also new screenshots published in the magazine:
