As well as a remastered soundtrack and enhanced HD graphics, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age offers new ways to customise character skills and weapons with the introduction of a job system based on classic Final Fantasy classes. This was introduced in the expanded International Zodiac Job System version of the game which, despite its name, didn’t see a western release. I remember thinking International Zodiac Job System had some interesting new additions, so it’s really exciting that Zodiac Age will be using that version of the game as its basis.
Final Fantasy XII didn’t get nearly the popularity it deserved, with a lot of people being put off by its changes to the standard battle system. I really hope that the remake will encourage more people to give it a go, because XII really is a great game.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is due for worldwide release in 2017 for the PS4.
