New Nintendo 3DS SNES Games Confirmed in Nintendo Leak? UPDATE: True

New Nintendo 3DS SNES games might be a thing that’s actually happening. The revised edition of the 3DS is a great machine, but doesn’t offer all too much more than the regular 3DS in terms of content. Bringing SNES games to its Virtual Console has been a big ask for many, and Nintendo may be delivering. UPDATE: It’s true!

This comes from a N1ntendo.nl report on a Nintendo Direct leak of tonight’s presentation, and they’ve had trustworthy leaks before. Given the New Nintendo 3DS’ hardware advantage over regular models, it certainly seems within the realms of possibility that SNES games will find their ways to the device.

Those with a tonne of SNES games on their Wii Us shouldn’t rejoice right away, however, as Nintendo usually expects players to buy a game twice for the Wii U and 3DS versions, as is already the case with NES games available on both systems’ Virtual Consoles, which may make the announcement bittersweet for some.

But more games is rarely a bad thing, and Nintendo’s unified account possibilities are a bigger issue for another day, and one that may as well wait on Nintendo NX announcements.

What SNES games would you like to see launch on the New Nintendo 3DS along with the announcement? We’d love to Super Mario World available pop up in the store tonight, but having a portable version of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past available on our New Nintendo 3DS would be glorious. Any excuse to play it yet another time.

Spread the love!
