PlayStation Underground have released a video detailing NieR: Automata’s open-world gameplay with plenty of combat, exploring, towns and shops, fishing and moose-riding! NieR fans have loads to gleam from the video.

Other than what’s listed above, a cool mechanic introduced is reminiscent of Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Nioh in that when you fall in battle, you have a chance to go back to where you fell to either retrieve the body in exchange for items and other goodies, or attempt to repair the body yourself — as an android, your memories and experience are transferred to a similar android, so you’re technically always the same person. If successful in repairing your previous body, it’ll help you in battle for a while but if you’re unsuccessful, then it’ll turn hostile and attack you, forcing you to defeat it or fall again and put yourself in a vicious cycle of losing a battle against yourself — or maybe you could just leave it.

NieR: Automata releases on PS4 on 10th March in Europe and three days earlier across North America, and it will come to PC at a later date. If you missed it, have a read on why the first NieR was so mesmerising.
