PSP PlayStation Store Closing March 31
Sony Computer Entertainment has officially announced that it will shut down the PlayStation Store for the PSP in Japan next year.
In March 2016 users will no longer be able to purchase new content via a PSP. You can however still purchase and download PSP content via the PlayStation 3 Store and the PlayStation Vita Store and you can download previously purchased content on your PSP. So the most impacted by this will be PSP Go users who don’t have a way of playing UMD based games but instead have to keep everything digitally.
In addition Sony’s UMD Passport Service will also be closing on March 31. This service allowed Vita users to register their PSP games and purchase the same game on their Vita for a small fee.
With that said let us take a look at some of the PSP games we covered on Rice Digital:
- Gal Gun 2 Review (PS4) (Switch) - April 17, 2018
- Aegis Defenders Review (PC) - April 6, 2018
- The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 Review (PS4) - March 26, 2018
