Samurai Warriors 4 Empires Announced

Samurai Warriors 4 has been one of the most successful Warriors games in recent memory, and deservedly so, as it’s one of the best. We’ve reviewed both Samurai Warriors 4 and its follow-up Samurai Warriors 4-II quite favourably, but now there’s a new game in town. Koei Tecmo have announced Samurai Warriors 4 Empires for 11th March 2016.

Samurai Warriors 4 Empires will be the first Empires game in the Samurai Warriors series since 2007’s Samurai Warriors 2 Empires for the PlayStation 2. The Empires versions of the games traditionally give you greater control over how the game plays out. Samurai Warriors 4 Empires will feature “improved battle gameplay and an expanded intuitive governing system, and explores the effects of building in-depth relationships and alliances”

Empires provides an alternative look on the events depicted in Samurai Warriors 4, using the historical landscape as a setting for an exciting strategy-focused game. Players have the opportunity to create their own character and set up a game that starts them off in the lower ranks of the army and allows them to gradually progress to rule the entire land through their conquests.

Samurai Warriors 4 Empires will release 11th March 2016 on PlayStation 4 as a digital and physical release, and as a digital only release on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
