New Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada Trailer Focuses on Combat

Koei Tecmo has released a new Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada trailer looking at character gameplay, as well as details on a bunch of exciting additions to the game’s combat! We get a look at Sasuke too, a newly playable character who looks like he has a fun combat style! Check out the trailer below:

On top of the tried-and-tested ‘one vs thousands’ hack-and-slash you’d expect from a Warriors game, Spirit of Sanada has some interesting new features to spice things up! One such addition is multi-stage battles, which see battles take place over a longer timespan and multiple battlefields. Secondary Battlefields will let you engage in battles where the Sanada family did not play a major role, allowing you to earn extra experience and items while witnessing key historical events from another perspective.

Outside of combat, you can explore the Castle Town and complete tests of combat called Feats for coins. Once you have six coins, you can use the Sanada Six Coins on the battlefield to use Stratagems – special strategies to change the tide of battle, with different effects each time they’re used. Another element of strategy to take into account is the newly implemented passage of time. During the day, you’ll be able to see the entire map, including enemy locations, and more Officers will appear on the battlefield. At night, however, enemy placements won’t be visible, and ninja will appear to attack under cover of darkness!
