SINoALICE Released, Gets Mysterious Key Art Change

Yoko Taro’s new mobile game SINoALICE released in Japan today. The official twitter account announced yesterday that the game surpassed 500,000 pre-registrations. Interestingly, the page on mobile stores now uses some key art with slightly different designs, though the game itself doesn’t appear to have been impacted.

Let’s play the 7 differences game! There’s not actually 7 differences so you might not want to spend too much time on this.

At least Alice looks much more like Alice in Wonderland now. But still, it is surprising to see these kinds of things changed for a mobile game releasing exclusively in Japan.

Who knows, maybe it’s to prepare for a future western release and try to prevent an eventual backlash over censorship? After all, the App Store and the Google Play store have seen worse than this.

SINoALICE released today in Japan for iOS and Android devices.
