Yakuza Kiwami out on August 29th

Sega has just announced that Yakuza Kiwami, the remastered version of the first Yakuza game will hit store shelves on August 29th in both Europe and North America. The game will be available for PlayStation 4 both physically and digitally for $29.99/£29.99/€34.99. Preordering will get you a limited first-run steelbook cover.

The first installment of the Yakuza series was originally released for PlayStation 2 way back in 2005 in Japan and 2006 in the west. There were already two HD editions which included both Yakuza 1 and 2 but they were only released in Japan exclusive for PlayStation 3 and Wii U.

Yakuza Kiwami will now support a higher resolution of 1080p, smoother framerate, all new models as well as improved textures. And if the success of Yakuza 0 for PlayStation 4 is anything is to go by, this might be the rebirth of the franchise in the west.
