Classic Resident Evil Titles Coming To Switch In May

Survival horror was love at first window-breaking zombie dog for most fans of the genre, and Switch owners wanting a new survival horror fix won’t have to wait long. Three classic Resident Evil games are incoming, and they really aren’t too far off.

Capcom have today revealed that the release date for the upcoming trio on Nintendo Switch will be May 21st, with pre-orders of the games opening on February 28th. These three titles were all originally released on the Nintendo Gamecube, so it feels fitting for them all to return to Nintendo (again).

So from May, you can get your hands on:

  • Resident Evil – the HD Remaster version of the Gamecube title, which itself was a remaster (don’t start).
  • Resident Evil Zero – the slightly odd prequel, for all intents and purposes.
  • Resident Evil 4 – recent nominee for the most ported game in the universe.

Capcom have confirmed that Europe will see these as individual digital downloads, with the NA region getting the Origins Collection of Resident Evil, and Resident Evil Zero as a physical collection, so I guess we will be importing that little gem. We’ve linked the original tweet below!

All we’re missing now is Resident Evil 2, 3, CODE: Veronica, Outbreak, Outbreak File #2, and a host of others. Come on Capcom, do the right thing. But what do you think? Will you be joining us in picking up Resident Evil 4 again? Which Resident Evil title would you like to see brought over? Let us know in the comments, or on Facebook and Twitter, and check back for more coverage of Resident Evil and other Japanese games!

Resident Evil, Resident Evil Zero, and Resident Evil 4 will release for Nintendo Switch on May 21st 2019. Interested in the series? Why not grab the most recent title?

Spread the love!
