Criminal Girls 2: Party Favors headed West

Criminal Girls 2: Party Favors is releasing in Europe and North America this September, exclusively for Vita, NIS America has recently announced.

Like the first game, there will be some minor changes that, in my opinion, have no negative effect on the game whatsoever – without these changes the game would never come West, after all. As Jordan from NIS America puts it, ““Why change anything in the first place?” The answer to that question is pretty complicated overall, but here’s the short version: While we do our best to make all our fans happy, we also need to make sure that our games can be released on the platform they’re made for, and released in the various territories in which we sell them.”

Anyway, the changes are similar to those found in Invite Only, with the ‘Punishment’ mini-game now being called ‘Motivation’, and the dialogue removed (there were never subtitles for it, either), along with other terminology changes. Some art is being redrawn with the original artist of the game, and there will be no English Dub. You can read the statement in full here. Personally, I’m fine with the changes and didn’t feel that the experience of Invite Only was lessened in any way.

Criminal Girls 2: Party Favors will be releasing later this year on Vita. Invite Only is a great game and if you haven’t tried it yet, I recommend doing so before the sequel hits, although it doesn’t seem to link in any way.

Spread the love!
