Dark Souls: Remastered on Switch Release Date Announced

Bandai Namco graced us with a (mostly) glorious return to Lordran this year with the long-awaited Dark Souls: Remastered and yet although the PS4 and X-Box One owners have been invading, and raging, and gitting gud since, those that own Nintendo Switch consoles have been left wanting.

That is until last night when Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe announced the release date of the game for Nintendo Switch to be October 19th 2018! This means now you will shortly be able to make your trek through the various locations including (shudder) Lost Izalith whilst on the go, on the toilet, in bed, or wherever you play your Switch!

Also releasing on the same day is the amiibo® figure based on the famous Solaire of Astora. It will allow the true Warrior of the Sunlight to prove their faith by using the “Praise the Sun” gesture from the beginning of the adventure. Although this gesture can also be obtained through regular gameplay, it’s a nice little addition to the game. Besides, you then have a figurine of everyone’s favourite Sun Bro.

For those of you that aren’t aware of the game, it’s an experience of tense exploration and fearsome foes, the twisted world of Dark Souls: Remastered is full of trials and tribulations, extreme battles, diverse weaponry and powerful magic. Players can customise their character to exactly suit their play style, should it be a heavily-armoured merciless warrior or a frail but mighty sorcerer, then level up and enhance that character using the Souls of fallen foes.

Bandai Namco also announced that Switch players will be able to explore Lordran prior to release with the online network test, teasing that more information on this network test will be available soon.

Dark Souls: Remastered is available to play on PlayStation 4, X-Box One, and PC. The Nintendo Switch version will be releasing later this year on 19th October, 2018 .
