Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors – Stream Archive

Sometimes, the older games are best, some times they are not, and this is definitely one of the former. For one of our Fight Club Friday streams, we played the incredible Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors for a few casual matches, remembering while playing why this is one of the most beloved of Capcom’s fighting game franchises.

Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors was originally released in the arcades in 1994, before coming to the Playstation in 1996. It was made by Capcom, who were experimenting with making a new fighting game in the Street Fighter II engine, as such it contains a lot of mechanics found in the iconic franchise, but augments it with new techniques such as air blocking and chain combos. Some of the characters from the game have found their way into other titles from the studio such as the Marvel vs Capcom series and Project X Zone.

Come and join us while we play as pretty much the entire roster of weird and wonderful characters, and get into the spirit of Hallowe’en with this horror-themed 2D sprite-based fighter (small caveat, we’re really not very good at this game)!

We stream regularly on our Twitch channel every Tuesday and Friday at 3pm BST! Come and join us for the fun as we show how good (and how bad) we are at games! Did you ever play Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors? Let us know in the comments, or on Twitter, and check back for more fighting games and other Japanese titles too!

Spread the love!
