Final Fantasy XV TGS Round-up
As usual, Square-Enix dominated Tokyo Game Show, this year unveiling more details into their glorious next-generation main Final Fantasy instalment, Final Fantasy XV. As Rice Digital’s Final Fantasy Fanboy, I’m going to do my best to give you a Final Fantasy XV TGS Round-up.
It all started with the new trailer, where we see the four main chaps roaming around the countryside in a car, stopping every now and then to fight staple Final Fantasy enemies (adamantoise, goblins in a cave, armored knights with guns etc.) For me, it’s very reminiscent of the Jurassic park movies: a bunch of people on great pastures marveling at lumbering beasts, and it has the same sort of feeling of exploring unknown land with mysterious creatures but in a light-hearted way.
Shortly after releasing their trailer, Square-Enix decided to showcase an eight-minute game play video on-stage. This video features the protagonists in a large city setting, and shows some awesome weather and lighting, along with a large battle featuring a behemoth with some really nice next-gen-looking weapon and sword effects.
Alongside Final Fantasy XV, Square-Enix revealed Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for PS4 and Xbox One, available early next year, which comes with a playable Final Fantasy XV demo download titled’Episode Duscae’.
So far, FFXV looks like it’s coming to Xbox One and PS4, which is a real shame for me as a PC gamer, especially with FFXIII recently being released on Steam.
