Gal Metal – Stream Archiveon November 16, 2018 by Reuben Mount
Despite not being very good at them, we really enjoy playing any kind of rhythm action game, so we were spoilt for choice when both Taiko No Tatsujin and Gal Metal came out in the same week! After playing the known quantity – a Taiko game is a Taiko game – it was time to play Gal Metal and lose ourselves in the visually striking metal band simulator.
Gal Metal is set in a world in which aliens are threatening to destroy the Earth; the only defence we have against this threat is a high school metal band who have to play to stop the invasion. With an admittedly bonkers story, and adorable micro-management school life activities, Gal Metal (from DMM Games and published in the West by Marvelous Games and PQube) is a fantastic little package that really shows a different way of doing a drumming video game. Also, it is available to buy right now, should you like the look of it – and it’s on our store right now!
So, come and join the metal band action as we try to drum in time to the music (and fail miserably). In this stream, we played the first three chapters of the story, had some fun with the social activities portion of the game, and attempted some practice sessions.
We stream regularly on our Twitch channel every Tuesday and Friday at 3pm BST! Come and join us for the fun as we show how good (and how bad) we are at games! Have you had a chance to play Gal Metal? Let us know in the comments, or on Twitter, and check back for more fighting games and other Japanese titles too!
