Haibane Renmei License Renewed by MVM Entertainment
UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment have announced that they have renewed their UK Distribution license for Haibane Renmei and as such will be re-releasing the series on DVD later this year.
MVM Entertainment previously held the license for the show and released it on DVD several years ago; but when the their license for the series expired they were unable to re-author anymore discs.
The announcement that MVM Entertainment have renewed their distribution license on Haibane Renmei means that once again the UK auidience will be able to check out a classic anime series; all of which will be presented in both English and Japanese audio.
Synopsis: The Haibane, enigmatic youths with halos and flightless, grey-feathered wings, live in a sleepy town surrounded by impenetrable walls – only the crows may come and go. Reki, an older Haibane, discovers a new cocoon, from which Rakka emerges possessing no memories except that of her dream of falling. Questions of her existence cloud Rakka’s mind as she struggles to learn the ways of the Haibane and to help Reki escape the Circle of Sin.
Despite the exciting news Haibane Renmei will only be released on DVD and at the time of writing MVM Entertainment have no plans to release a Blu-ray variation of the series. The DVD version of Haibane Renmei is expected to be released on the 27th June 2016 within the UK.
