Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi Makes Its Way To Europe

The Otome genre (games targeted towards a female audience) is nearly nonexistent in Europe. Rising Star Games are hoping to change that with the release of Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi for the 3DS, the second game in the series to make it to PAL territories.

Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi is an updated release of Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, which was released on the PSP in America early last year. New story content has been added, as well as extra features that make use of the 3DS’ unique features.

The Hakuoki series takes place during the end of Japan’s Edo Period, a time filled with political unrest. Amongst this, a young womon by the name of Chizuru arrives in Kyoto searching for her missing father. Thanks to certain events that conspire, she is taken under the protection of the Shinsengumi, a masterless group of samurai that protect Japan.

Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi is set for a late October release this year.
