Live Action Dynasty Warriors Trailer Looks Dope, Actually (Don’t @ Me)

Yeah, yeah — movies based on video games usually suck. Movies based even on anime usually suck, too (though I’ll light one up for those two Japanese live action Death Note movies). Dynasty Warriors, a series about one v one hundred hack and slash, may seem like an odd choice for a movie. But, it actually looks pretty dope.

Produced by China 3D Digital Entertainment Limited, and directed by Roy Chow Hin Yeung (Nightfall, Murderer), the movie is due for a 2019 release.

To be honest, the source material is sort of perfect for a movie, even if a little big. As many of you know, Dynasty Warriors is itself based on the epic historical book, Romance of the Three Kingdoms — which details the warring history of China.

As the trailer shows, this is more than just a movie of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, though — but a movie of Dynasty Warriors. The one v one hundred action is explained in-context as “musou” energy, a special power that can only be used by a few legendary heroes.

The live action Dynasty Warriors movie is due to release in 2019.

Spread the love!
