My Neighbor Totoro Bus Stop Replica Made In Japan By Retired Couple
Have you ever wanted to give Totoro a hug in real life? Well now you can, as a retired couple have created a My Neighbor Totoro bus stop replica, and it looks really impressive! The bus stop can be found in the aptly named Miyazaki prefecture and has become a hit tourist attraction.
The couple, based in Takahuru, Miyazaki hand-made the Totoro replica which is now on display and available to visit. The reach of Studio Ghibli is of course worldwide, and it’s safe to say that Totoro is one of the most recognisable parts of the studio’s history. In case you didn’t know, he’s basically a really large cuddly monster, based on the folklore creatures named Koropokkuru.
The couple have obviously located a space for the bus stop that really does look like it’s straight out of the film, and Totoro doesn’t look out of place!
A lot of work went into the creation of this life-size Totoro! I’ll include some pictures below so you can see the effort the couple went to – just expand the images to see them in all their glory!
