New Attack on Titan Trailer from Koei Tecmo
So far the hype around Koei Tecmo’s upcoming Attack on Titan video game has mostly been built around the idea of Omega Force working on an Attack on Titan game. Really someone should be able to make a really good Attack on Titan game, and Omega Force might be the ones to do it.
This new Attack on Titan trailer reveals some much more meaty details about the game. It’s looking like it could be something special.
I do wish they would finalise an actual name for the game, though. It’s really great to have a slightly more expansive look at what playing Attack on Titan(Working Title) will actually entail. Even though there’s not a whole lot of information in the trailer it’s still a nice build up from the tiny morsel of teaser we received before.
It looks like the speculation that Attack on Titan might invert Omega Force’s traditional Warriors formula could be true. Shots frequently focus on Eren and a whole load of cadets, facing down just a few of the big Titans.
The 3D gear movement looks pretty smooth, zipping around Titans pecking away at them. But it’s hard to get too much sense of how it will work with such short shots. Ultimately the success of the game will all come down to the implementation of the 3D gear and whether it feels satisfying. In that sense this trailer has certainly piqued my interest.
Koei Tecmo and Omega Force’s Attack on Titan is expected to release in 2016 in the west.
