Persona Team Director discusses Atlus' 25th anniversary

No one knows what the future currently holds for Atlus surrounding all of the drama with parent company Index, there has still been plenty of signs good news from the team such as the registration of Persona5.jp and big potential buyers bidding on them and now the Persona team director, Katsura Hashino, has sent a letter to fans via their blog.

Here are the major points of the letter.

“It is going to be Atlus’s 25th anniversary next year and we had a news we wanted to announce.  However if you could wait for a little longer to hear that news, we would be grateful.  We are working very hard on each project that we are developing at the moment.  What we’re going to aim at for a while is making these new titles as good as possible.  As usual it’s been very hectic with so much work to do, but I am trying my best not to lose my concentration.”

Afterward he gave a warm thank you to fans for enjoying the games they produce and he believes that the future of gaming will be “something wonderful with lots of excitement, as long as there is love of games by you (users) and us (creators)”

Personally I would love to see another Catherine style title but what do you think Atlus are working on?  Persona 5 or possibly another addition in the Digital Devil Saga or maybe an entirely new IP?
Below is our translation of the entire letter:

Hi, I’m Katsura Hashino from Persona Team.

Finally the Persona concert is going to be held at Nippon Budoukan.  Let me represent my team to say thank you to all Persona fans.

Persona has become a very well known game series.  We are very fortunate that we were able to achieve the Persona’s animation, drama, and a music concert.  It was 2004 when we started to develop Persona 3, so it’s been already nearly 10 years since then!  We would not have achieved this without the support of the fans.  We really appropriate it.

I am sorry that we have caused so many worries about the recent troubles.  It is going to be Atlus’s 25th anniversary next year and we had news we wanted to announce.  However if you could wait for a little longer to hear that news, we would be grateful.  We are working very hard on each project that we are developing at the moment.  What we’re going to aim at for a while is making these new titles as good as possible.  As usual it’s been very hectic with so much work to do, but I am trying my best not to lose my concentration.

Nowadays people expect in video games is getting more diverse.  However I believe that the future of video games will be something wonderful with lots of excitement, as long as there is love of games by you (users) and us (creators).   As one of the game creators, I will continue to make efforts so that video games mean something to you.  Finally, if you find our games one of the most enjoyable things, it would be my greatest pleasure.
