Pokémon TCG Shining Legends Expansion Announced for October
As the name suggests, shining Pokémon are finally returning to the Pokémon TCG in a big way with the next English language expansion, Shining Legends! Based on the Japanese sub-set of the same name, Shining Legends is a small and tight sub-set focusing on some premium goodies.
The focus of the sub-set is both on shiny Pokémon and legendary Pokémon, so you can expect to making plenty of high powered pulls this time around. This includes Shining Jirachi and Shining Volcanion, as well as Shaymin, Marshadow and Mewtwo-GX. Take a look at the Japanese set-list here to see what the set will probably include over here.
This special Shining Legends expansion will feature:
– Over 75 cards: Including Legendary, Mythical and Shining Pokémon from across Pokémon’s history
– Booster packs: Each pack contains 11 cards selected from the expansion and includes two guaranteed foil cards
– New powerful Pokémon-GX: Including the likes of Mewtwo-GX, Raichu-GX and more. Look out for full-art rainbow Pokémon-GX!
This special expansion will only be available via “will only be available via select Pokémon Trading Card Game products, including Pokémon-GX Boxes and more”. It’s an extra powerful premium booster series, so expect these to be a little harder to get hold of. An Elite Trainer Box will be available, as well as 3-booster pack Pin Collections with special Mewtwo and Pikachu cards.
It certainly looks like Shining Legends will be providing some extra excitement while Burning Shadows continues to run its course, in the run up to the next full expansion, Sun & Moon: Crimson Invasion, which is expected to have an English release in November.
The Pokémon TCG Shining Legends Expansion is due to release 6th October 2017.
