Pokken Tournament Switch Version Announced, Ultra Sun and Moon

Nintendo have just had another Pokemon Direct clocking in at roughly eight minutes, but those eight minutes gave us a glimpse of the future of Pokemon. As many guessed, it’s concerning the first Pokemon title to head to Nintendo Switch! But maybe not quite what you thought…

Pokken Tournament DX is headed to Switch and comes with a cool live-action trailer which we’ll share here once we can. It’ll release worldwide on 22nd September. Included will be five new characters including Decidueye, Croagunk, Darkrai, Scizor and Empoleon.

That’s not all though! Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are headed to 3DS with new stories in the same world, and new Pokemon! These will arrive on 17th November. Gutted they’re not for Switch too, though, but hopefully we’ll see a brand new title announced in the near future. Pokemon Silver and Gold are being released on the Nintendo eShop for 3DS too, also on 22nd September.

I’m ecstatic to see Pokken Tournament make its way to Switch with more content, especially as it’s a great game on the Wii U, and I’m sure the new 3DS Pokemon games will be great — it’s hard to not be a little disappointed that they’re not on Switch though.
