Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition Announced for PC

It has been over 6 years since Resident Evil 4 was ported to PC. The original PC version was based on the PlayStation 2 version, instead of the superior GameCube version which featured higher resolution textures. Today Capcom announced Resident Evil 4 The Ultimate HD Edition exclusively for the PC.

This announcement came as no surprise especially after the overwhelming number of ports and HD remakes of the Resident Evil franchise in the last couple of years. The HD remake of Resident Evil 4 was available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 but now it is being re-released for PC. The original PC game was caped at 30 FPS and didn’t support 1080p. This is now being fixed with The Ultimate HD Edition, which will have buttery smooth 60 FPS and higher resolution. Additionally the game will finally get native keyboard and mouse support, something that was strongly criticized before. The game is scheduled to come out on the 28th of February and is currently available on Steam as a preorder.
