Samurai Warriors 4-II Announced, with Release Date & MCM Demo

That’s right: Samurai Warriors 4-II. Who cares about mixing numerical styles? Final Fantasy X-2 sure didn’t, so why should Samurai Warriors 4-II? Samurai Warriors games haven’t received sequels before, so this is kind of a big and exciting deal! It’s coming to Europe as soon as 2nd October 2015.

Instead of the regional approach of the previous Samurai Warriors games, 4-II takes a more character-centric approach, which will be interesting to see in action. The focus will be on 13 Samurai this time around, 9 from Samurai Warriors 4, 3 from previous entries in the series, and one brand new one!

On top of this there are also new gameplay improvements and gameplay modes. And the first demo will be this weekend, at MCM! How are they turning this around so fast? That right there is an announcement.

It will release physically on PlayStation 4, and digitally on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PC via Steam.

Koei Tecmo Europe announced today the upcoming arrival of Samurai Warriors 4-II, a brand new installment for the Samurai Warriors saga. The title is currently being developed for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and will be released through European retailers on 2nd October 2015. The title will also be simultaneously available digitally on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and PlayStation®VITA handheld entertainment system, as well as on PC via Steam®.

Samurai Warriors 4-II is a hero-focused saga. Unlike the previous Samurai Warriors games that focused on delivering their narrative by exploring the various regions of feudal Japan, this title casts a spotlight on the characters themselves and tells their stories through 13 exciting new chapters. These chapters revolve around nine characters introduced in Samurai Warriors 4, three fan-favourites from previous titles and a brand new addition to the samurai roster.

The game will feature many new and improved features as the battle, action and character development systems have been revamped. It also introduces a highly challenging and richly rewarding mode called: the Endless Castle. Players can choose to enter and struggle to survive for as long as possible, or to play against the clock and see how far they can get up the castle’s increasingly difficult levels!

While more information on this title, including more details on the 13 Samurai it shadows, will be released in the next few months, Koei Tecmo Europe is proud to present a first consumer playable demo at this week’s MCM London Expo at the ExCeL centre!
