Samurai Warriors 4-II Survival Mode Announced, and It’s a Bit like Crystal Maze

There have been a tonne of Warriors games, but it looks like Samurai Warriors 4-II will be a little bit different than the sequels usually are. It’s a sequel to a specific entry in the series for starters. We’ve covered the initial differences before. Koei Tecmo have just announced Samurai Warriors 4-II survival mode — an entirely new gameplay type to the Warriors series, and it’s a little reminiscent of Crystal Maze.

If the trailer doesn’t sum it up for you it’s a mode where you can go through a challenging castle, clearing room and collecting treasure and weapons. The levels of the castle are “endless”. But, you can only keep your rewards for use in Story Mode if you also make it out alive, and within the time limit.

Chamber of Riches

The deeper you go, the harder it will be to keep your prizes. But the rewards will also be greater! Richard O’Brien would be proud.

I would kill for this to be a DLC map.

Also part of the Survival Mode is the Challenge Mode, which is about getting high scores in specific chambers. They’ve got some videos showing them off on their YouTube channel.

The Chamber of Trials is all about defeating as many enemies as possible within a given time frame.

The Chamber of Riches focuses on collecting as much gold as possible before time runs out.

The Chamber of Agility tests the player’s skill as it requires them to defeat enemy standard bearers and reach a target destination in time.

And lastly, the Chamber of Death poses an extreme challenge as enemies deal overpowering blows that could kill low level playable characters instantly!!
