Take a Look at Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Gameplay & New Trailer
When Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was announced as coming to Switch this year, we were wary. But, Nintendo are still sticking to their guns, with a Holiday 2017 release date appearing at the end of this chunky new trailer. It might look a bit more anime than its predecessors, but it still looks and sounds pretty Xenoblade to me.
It looks like an epic adventure on a truly massive scale — a hallmark of the Xenoblade Chronicles series. There’s huge monsters, airships, and lovely, lovely, green grass. Oh, and a big sword, of course. It’s a series I have a huge amount of confidence in, and it’s really good for Nintendo to have such a strong JRPG series as an exclusive.
If the trailer wasn’t enough, they also showed off about 40 minutes of gameplay in the Nintendo Treehouse. It really helps being able to see how it plays, and it looks a lot like a fusion between some of the things we really loved about the first game, and the more exploration focused X.
It’s really nice that the Treehouse gives us the opportunity to see the game itself in action for a lengthy period. Trailers aren’t always all that, and it’s certainly reassuring to get a really good eye on it.
