Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd (PS3/PS Vita)

I watched a Hatsune Miku concert at Hyper Japan Christmas Market in October. I have not been the same since. If you also want your life to be forever altered by vocaloid goodness, then you’ll want to pick up this title. Its also on PS Vita (THE UNDISPUTED BEST PLATFORM FOR JAPANESE VIDEO GAMES) so you can share this high-pitched electronic wonderment with the other commuters on your bus to work.

Oh yeah, and there’s also FREE DLC so you can enjoy additional costumes at no extra cost! Happy!

Deception IV: Blood Ties (PS3/PS Vita)

Are you quite sinister? A bit sadistic, perhaps? Do you always go for the evil option in online morality quizzes? If you answered yes to any of those questions, thank you for reading this far into the post. Also, you may enjoy Deception IV; a game were you are the master of traps. Evil traps.

With over 30 maps, 100 traps, and some really nice online functionality, Deception IV is a strategy game revolving around the Devil’s daughter who, assisted by three Daemons, defeats her foes through sheer trickery. Its good. It really is. Plus, Vita touch-screen controls. Eh…amiright?

My Personal Christmas Break Recommendation – Samurai Warriors 4 Anime Edition (PS4)

I freakin’ love Koei Tecmo’s Warriors franchise. Admittedly, this title was my first foray into the Samurai series but what I have played so far (every evening for the past fortnight) it is every bit as good as Dynasty Warriors and Warriors Orochi. Hopefully KT will continue to include couch coop in all of their future releases, as there’s nothing better than hyper attacking through hordes of enemy Japanese soldiers with a buddy.

The Anime Edition has additional character costume DLC, a soundtrack CD, and Episode Zero of the new Samurai Warriors anime.

Here’s to 2014! What a year to be an anime and games nerd, eh? Merry Christmas one and all!

Spread the love!
