V! What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord? R – Taipei Game Show Footageon January 23, 2017 by Kitsumeda
Acquire’s What “Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord?” series was already a mouthful, but now they went one step further with this retro-rooted game, bringing it to VR as the ridiculously titled “V! What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord? R”. Well at least it’s not the Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do To Deserve This? anymore.
The first game was a PSP exclusive, and had you digging a dungeon and spawning monsters to defend your demon lord from the eminent threat of incoming heroes. It was a bizarre little game which ended up being way more compelling than it had any right to be. The game had a PSP sequel one year later. The most recent game in the series known as No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either! was released in 2013 for the Vita a free to play puzzle game which ultimately lacked the nuances of its predecessors.
V! What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord? R was first teased back in 2016’s TGS. The game doesn’t seem to resemble its predecessors too much, but fortunately it still has that crazy charm of the originals. The game is scheduled to come out sometime in 2017 in Japan. Check out the the stream from the Taipei Game Show, showing off how things look in VR. The game footage starts at around the 9-minute mark.
