Yakuza Kiwami TGS Trailer Shows the “Ultimate” Yakuza Remake

For fans of Japanese gaming Yakuza is a big deal. That’s why everyone was so happy that Yakuza 5 is actually coming to the west, as many feared it would never happen. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Yakuza Sega have revealed a Yakuza Kiwami TGS Trailer, an “ultimate remake” of the first Yakuza, slickly showing off its differences and enhancements.

Just look at those transitions between the graphics of the original and Yakuza Kiwami! It looks great! We can only pray that it will eventually find it’s way west. The first two Yakuza games were on PlayStation 2, and have still somehow not been released as PS2 Classics on PSN — not in Europe anyway.

In Japanese “kiwami” basically means “extreme”, so you’d better strap in.

Yakuza Kiwami is due to release 21st January 2016 in Japan on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. No news about it heading west yet!
